Workshop 1 – Day 3 Outing

As the third day of the workshop wrapped up, we managed to come up with an outing plan. Mr. Mushtaq arranged a visit to the beach. All our Lahori friends were thrilled to hear the word- sea and they transmitted their excitement to us as well.

So with all high spirits we got seated in the bus and headed towards Sandspit. On our way we also served as local guides to the Lahoris, showing them Port Qasim, huge ships and famous landmarks around. The bus was not just filled by a bunch of crazy excited people but also with songs, jokes and laughs, particularly Umer’s famous laugh. I remember in between Awais and I got into a little debate too, which was fun actually. Enjoying our way throughout we reached the beach.

The excitement meter of Lahoris actually burst out when they caught the first glimpse of the sea. Everyone folding their pants just splashed their way in. Some of the Lahoris were a little scared to take a dip in the beginning but well who can resist water? I particularly remember Kamran asking me what’s the color of the sand? A sweet, innocent Lahori question!

The softness of sand, musical patterns of waves, company of crazy newly made friends and to top it all a full moon night. What more can one ask for?!…………… hmmmmm………….let me think…………….. bonfire! It was difficult in the beginning but Moiz and Ishtiaq bhai successfully managed to fire the chopped woods and we had our dinner sitting around fire eating, drinking, talking, laughing and taking pictures. It was all and all a fun little party at beach.
