Workshop 1 – Day 7

Workshop Day 7 3rd Feb, day 7 of the workshop was held at Eckova Productions. Participants started gathering and by 12 the session formally started with Mr. Mushtaq briefing them about the production work plan. Shooting schedules of all teams were decided and queries regarding the production were cleared. Each team was assigned their mentors and volunteers and the dates for their meetings with the mentors were decided.

After the lunch Patrick and Grace joined along with our mentors- Ayesha Arif and Nameera Ahmed. The mentors carried out their introduction and were more than happy to assist teams in their projects. Patrick and Grace then carried their one to one discussions with all teams while the rest of the groups had a great time being together.

Zohaib and Ghayas did a wonderful job of painting one of the Eckova walls with Filmmaking for Social Change’s black and yellow logo. I even tried my painting skills there and assisted our senior artists (Z & G). I could hear laughter and clicks of camera everywhere. There were group photos taken at every moment. It was the last day of the workshop 1.

The people who were complete strangers had become such good friends here and now it was time to say bye. As usual there were jokes being cracked. We even translated some jokes to Grace and even she couldn’t help out laughing. They made me sing a Punjabi song to Grace and explained her through actions what it really meant. A live performance by Awais depicting Saima. This was hilarious.

Soon it was time for our Lahori friends to leave for airport so with all the goodbye hugs they left. I, Sabir Azeemi (camera man), Naveed and Summaiyah escorted them to the airport making sure that they don’t come back! ; )

Reaching Eckova, we had our photos taken besides the newly painted wall with Patrick and Grace. Had a yummmmyyyy chocolate cake (u all missed it Lahoris) and paid farewell to Patrick and Grace. So this was an end to this fun packed, creative, productive workshop…… but……..picture abhi baqi hai mere dost.

We’ll be back.

To be continued………..
